Epic Gaming Time - Even better than epic meal time!

Wolf Gaming Digest: *burp*  Been busy with some heavy WoW raiding doing Heroic Dragon Soul and other fun stuff.

Skyrim has been a blast, finished that up and starting a new char. I have to say the replay value of Skyrim is great like previous Elder Scrolls games making a new char and playing a different way opens up other ways to do things and the game is just awesome overall.

SWTOR Beta was cool to play through and test but I hate to give up my WoW time and I'm not sure how well I could divide my time between the two of them.

WAKFU was an interesting game to Beta test and it's now being rolled out, it has a subscription model that you have to be part of to fully experience the game so we'll see how that plays as the game goes live.

Diablo 3 has been an absolute blast to Beta and that's definitely going to give WoW some competition for my time.  Diablo 3 recently went active on Battle.net which means it's likely nearly ready for release with rumors of an April Launch.

Dota 2 is a very slick game and any League of Legends player will tell you it's going to be pretty badass when it's finally released.

I recently started a Youtube channel and I'm posting gameplay guides and strats mainly focusing on WoW and Diablo 3.  I'll be adding videos of Dota 2 and possibly some MW and Skyrim videos as well.  I'm looking at doing some gameplay reviews of the Guild Wars 2 Beta soon and possibly of the new title Tera which I have an invite to Beta.

That's it for now so happy gaming!

Diablo 3 goes active on Battle.net

So I was playing WoW and went to swtich toons and then got disconnected so I logged into my battle.net account to make sure everything was fine and there it was. Diablo 3 now showing active and here is the screenshot.  Battle.net is having issues atm and I'm guessing it's because they let the demons loose. OH NOES battle.net has demons!! *grabs weapon to go hack em up*

Archived Blizzard adds BattleTags. Chat & IM across BattleNet w/o revealing personal info

Blizzard has added a new feature called BattleTags to BattleNet which allows for Chat, IM's and other features previously only available to Real ID users.  This will be across all platforms so players of Blizzard games can keep up with their friends without having to reveal their personal info the way a Real ID requires you to.  They are presently being beta tested and will come first to Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 and then to WoW as they are rolled out across Battle Net.
You can select your BattleTag now by logging into your Battle Net account and you will see on the left side of your account page the option to choose a BattleTag.  Whatever you choose will have a unique 4 digit ID Number added to the end so that you won't be confused with anyone else.

For further details see the Blizzard FAQ below.

Archived SWTOR Beta Test Blog Pics, Tips & Tricks Part 2 LvL 11-20

Original Gaming Furever Blog Post http://www.gamingfurever.com/index.php?option=com_myblog&show=swtor-beta-test-blog-pics-tips-tricks-part-2-lvl-11-20.html&Itemid=177

Ok time to finish up my SWTOR Beta commentary. Force Leap is awesome, let me repeat that, Force Leap is awesome use it whenever possible. Doing leap plus your AoE smash pretty much 1 shots smaller groups of trash mobs.  I also scaled my screenshots down a bit so they fit better if this blog is being viewed in the main website window and not maximized.

Darth Baras has his psycho moment and looses it while trying to get info from a republic spy. I LoL'd so hard when he goes off his rocker.

OMG OMG I've got a live bomb I need to get rid of it!!! -Side Quest: The Empire needs people who don't mind getting blown into meaty chunks to find and dispose of bombs in the Imperial City.. Hazard Pay please. :3  If you're looking for the bombs they spawn on the sides of structures at about chest level.

Hey guys it's the Dark Temple where dead Sith Lords were imprisoned and now they've awakened! They're taking over the minds of all the workers and scientists sent to excavate it. I think I'll go in there at lvl 14 right after I sign over my Life Insurance to the Empire. (Wait a few more levels before going in here 16+ recommended)

Kill Giant Pig Ogre Monster Elite and get loot, hint pop your dmg resistance CD's at the start of the fight and then blow all your Dmg CD's on him and he's easilly soloable.

WTF!? Revan?! Yeah you can infiltrate / join the Order of Revan and they even ask you to retrieve his mask from a rogue Sith Lord.  ***SPOILER ALERT***  There is a rumor that Revan is the current Emperor but has been locked up by the Dark Council.  Only time and more gameplay will tell for sure.

After sneaking into the rogue Sith Lord's massive compound which has a ton of quests in it and fighting his army of minions and droids you finally find "The Mask of Revan" Oooo shiny...

The son of the rogue Sith Lord that Darth Baras sent you to kill. Note: Both he and his mother are Sith but not that hard. His mom will try to bribe you and will indeed offer sexual favors in exchange for not killing them. Yep it's Light/Dark Side choice time.

Sorry but I already have a hot companion so you guys are going to have to die. /Cuts down Sith Lord's wife and son. -This does have consequences later on!! +Uber Dark Side points

Yay it's the crypt of the Ravager (Ancient Sith Device that can break any person's will and get their thoughts) Doh!! the stupid scavengers took it apart! There are a bunch of quests in here and several of which involve an elite Sith Lord controlling somone so be prepared for heavy combat.

Cool lighting effects in the multi-story Dark Temple

Ding! You have just obtained the epic Sith Breather Mask thingy! o/ Stats on this thing are awesome btw, yet another reason to do all the quests in here.

See that Fallen Sith Lord over there with the really shiny star by his name? See all those HP he has? Do not go anywhere near him by yourself! Bring a friend or 2 depending on your level if you want to take him on. SWTOR has rare spawns and he is one of them.

Aha! The main plot thickens. A young Jedi who can see a person's true nature by just looking at them! Darth Baras says: I'm FIRIN' UP MAH LAZERS!! Ok ok he wants you to silence his spy network across several worlds and then find this Jedi and kill them.

That's right! You now have your own Starship! A nice sized well outfitted and upgradable ship that you use to travel around and also take on space combat missions. But before you get it.....

Remember that rogue Sith Lord and you killed his wife and son a few gameplay hours ago? Before you can board your ship one of his top agents steps out and says it's time for you to die. Pull no punches here he's standing between you and your epic ship and oh yeah he wants to kill you and hits pretty hard. Bust out your dmg mitigation CD's and then hit him with everything you've got, do not let the fight drag on just kill him asap.

Yay big ship with all sorts of stuff.

This will probably be your one of your first space missions. Go kill a space station. Note all space missions have a time limit and various win/loss conditions so read the notes on the mission before you start it.

That's no moon! That's a SPACE STATION!! Veterans of old Star Wars games will enjoy the classic space combat. If you're having a hard time be sure to go upgrade your ship it can make a big difference. Some missions are repeatable as dailies and some have differing difficulty levels you can attempt.

This is an escort mission and gets pretty hairy, I suggest upgrading your ship before attempting this one unless you're a crack shot otherwise the ship you're trying to escort will go boom.

Welcome to Balmorra. Lvl 17-21ish planet. Btw they're in a big civil war atm. Have fun! Ok break time, more on Balmorra later.

Archived Blizzard Brings down the Ban Hammer for exploiting loot bug in LFR Dragon Soul

Original Gaming Furever Blog Post http://www.gamingfurever.com/index.php?option=com_myblog&show=blizzard-brings-down-the-ban-hammer-for-exploiting-loot-bug-in-lfr-dragon-soul.html&Itemid=177

If you are getting loot off of a boss twice then it is an exploit. This has always been the case in World of Warcraft, and we expect players to know better.

We're in the process of implementing a hotfix to fix the exploit, and are deciding what steps we'll be taking for the gear that was already obtained.

Bashiok

There are already reports of Blizzard issuing 8 Day Bans and stripping gear from offending players.  Top rated Paragon Guild also got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and has issued a public appology.  An 8 Day ban for them has a good chance of knocking them nearly out of the race for a World First kill.

Archived SWTOR Beta Tester Blog Pics Tips and Tricks

In this blog I will be covering the SWTOR Beta Test, my restrictions as a Beta Tester have been lifed at this point so I can now blog, discuss, and post pictures from the Beta from this point forward.

That being said let's start with the opening movie.  I wil be covering tips and tricks to give you a head start on the game as well as posting pics from the Beta.

In a Galaxy Far Far Away...

Clips from opening movie of SWTOR Beta

Jedi thought bubble: We are so screwed..

Imperial Soldier and Bounty Hunter classes after p*wning some face.

Enter 2 of the Sith classes

Obligatory Jedi vs Sith epic lightsaber battle.

Lightsaber throw ability

Force Leap.. one of my favorite abilities. Yes the Jedi is about to get owned.

Now on to the gameplay, graphics look good and the interface has much of the traditional MMO elements like WoW so if you're used to WoW you'll pick this up very easily. Here is a starting quest where you get an ancient Sith Warblade.

This is one of the hub locations in the Sith starting area at the base of the Sith Academy stairs. You'll essentially spend your first 10 or so levels on Korriban learning all your abilities and getting your first companion. Companions are controlled and can be outfitted by the player. More on that later. Korriban is expansive and has a good number of zones inc temples and tombs.

This is the Sith Academy a 3 level structure and quest hub with a bunch of different main quests and side quests. The quest givers, Cantina (Rest Zone), and Skill Trainers are all in here. Note about the Cantina (Rest Zone) If you want to build rested xp you need to log out in a rest zone.

I'm taking a transport (taxi) to another zone on Korriban for the next series of quests. Important note, as you are doing quests you have choices that affect not only light and dark side but also different choices can gain favor with the powers on that world and earn you commendations which are basically special tokens to buy cool gear with. Your choices in an earlier quest can come back to help or haunt you later so do not just randomly blunder through quests and click any response.

See this guy and how he has a gold star next to his name? Yeah it means he's powerful and will be a challenge and may kill you if you try and solo him. I took him down but I'm playing a Sith Warrior which is a tank class so I can take alot of dmg. Also.. explore!! You get extra xp and can sometimes find items that lead to other quests and hidden rewards. This game rewards you for doing more than just the main questline.

This is Darth Baras, your new master and his star pupil and your rival. This is after the whole incident between Darth Baras and your former master (who I really couldn't stand and elected to kill). It's important to note that choosing the correct responses influences a hidden value in the game of how much a particular character likes you which in turn affects all sorts of other things. This rival tries to kill you several times and you go through a whole plot of how to deal with him but it's important to remember the rules of the sith so you don't get yourself in trouble. In the end I followed the rules and let this guy try to kill me and then I killed him in self defense after making him angry enough to ignore Darth Baras' orders. So I got to kill him and no penalty for me.

Darth Baras gives you your first companion. A Twi'lek that seems to be a bounty hunter type class. And he tells you to, "Dominate her as you see fit." Game throws in some intimate domantion overtones here so not sure how far you can take that. Note: Companions have a visible indicator of how much they like you. This has various affects on the game, in general I think having them like you is a good thing.

Ok that covers most of lvl 1-10 on Korriban.  Next installment will be getting your lightsaber the Imperial Fleet and Dromund Kaas.

Archived Skyrim Blog Tips Tricks and Pics

Here is the digest of my Skyrim Blog for the day covering a span of my adventures in Skyrim with some Tips & Tricks as well as pics from the game. Well I did it, I found my love in Skyrim. This hot sexy Argonian stud and we got married and became mates then hopped in the bed and made love. (Too bad Skyrim doesn't show that part) Now he lives with me and runs a shop which you can buy and sell from and he'll cook tastey meals and after you make love you get a special "Lover's Comfort" (afterglow) buff that boosts the rate of all skill learning by 15% for 8hrs.
Another beautiful shot in Skyrim showing off the wonderful fog and cloud laying effects as well as the beautiful trees. Looks kinda familar doesn't it.

Skyrim Pic

This is a giant and several of his Mammoths, this is really important. Giants hit really really hard and can 1 shot you. They literally can hit you for over 200 dmg in 1 swing but they are not aggressive unless provoked. So avoid combat around them unless you're really careful to let them aggro on whatever you're fighting and not on you.
Skyrim Giant

Oh noes! My friend he is about to be attacked and I cannot save him.... yeah well he isn't the one who needs saving. 5-1... not a problem for this guy...
Oh noes! 5-1

Yep he's a werewolf, guess it's time to feed the beast. (This is your first exposure to the hidden werewolf society in the game.)

Werewolf!

DOGFOOD!!! Oh wait that's Shannox's line.. of well it applies here as well. Om nom nom. Yep he turned em all into hamburger. These guys are part of the Silver Hand. Werewolf hunters that carry awesome gear, be sure to have plenty of bag space when facing these guys so you can play Monty Haul.

DOGFOOD

Yet another reason to do the Companion's questlines early, you can become a Werewolf, get awesome gear and... this quest takes you to a Word Wall and you learn the Dragon Breath shout which does an incredible amount of dmg and leaves targets on fire. It's a frontal cone attack with a 30sec CD and imho one of the better shouts in the game. Perfect for torching groups of foes and taking out really strong but fire weak foes like Ice Trolls and other baddies. Also does decent dmg to dragons surprisingly.

Fire Breath Shout

Trolls... why did it have to be Trolls... Sidenote: Trolls are annoying and regen health so do not back down ever. Go full force and burn all your stamina and magic as needed to kill them asap. Cold and especially fire are effective in putting the extra hurt on them.

Trolls

FATALITY!! Troll has been disemboweled. o/
Oh btw in case you're wondering why he has the blue tinge it's because I have a frost blade equipped so it does frost and stamina dmg which can prevent enemies from using their power attacks on you which is a very good thing.
Regular trolls become much easier as you go up in level this is from the companion questline at the start of the game so depending on when you did the quest you could be facing them at around level 6-7. Once you get up around 14 trolls are much easier.

FATALITY

Stormcloak camp in the wilderness, finding a camp of your associated faction (imperial or stormcloak) is great because it gives you a friendly travel point and depending on the camp a trader or 2 so you can unload w/o having to go all the way back to a city.

Faction Camp

Wonderful view from a ruin on the lower slopes of the "Throat of the World" This ruin has a spider boss, some decent loot and an interesting activation pedestal that juts out over the cliff that you need an item for which I haven't discovered yet but it looks out over a huge pass on the central mountain so it probably has some significance later in the game.

View

Spider Boss in the ruined tunnel. He hits hard up close but you can pepper him with ranged attacks or magic because he has a hard time getting at you if you stay back towards the upper part of the tunnel. I used stealth and a bow to take him down without much trouble.  I saved my game and drilled him to death with my magic bow on the first attempt and tried melee the 2nd time just to see how big he really was and how hard he hits. Yeah he hits hard if you try and melee him.  I saw him at the end of the tunnel blocking the door and so I stealthed and start hitting him with my magic bow I just backed up a bit when he got close and he would back off or deaggro so I could hit him with another sneak attack.Spider Boss

Hawt Argonian that offers to help you "relax" *keeps grinning at you like he thinks you're A) Hawt or B) A tastey piece of meat. Will sell you skooma and other naughty items.Hawt Argonian
Ok that's enough of a Skyrim report for now. I'm level 21 so far without any power leveling or anything like that and played the game a moderate amount of time. Still keeping up on my WoW raiding and some MW3. Happy Gaming :3
